Litchfield Bancorp Sponsors Community Celebration

Litchfield Bancorp (LBC) is partnering with Rod Dixon’s KiDSMARATHON® Connecticut and Litchfield Hills Food Systems, to sponsor a Celebration of Community on June 7, 2014 from 10:00am to 1:00pm at Plumb Hill Playing Fields in Litchfield.

This year, attractions will include the KiDSMARATHON Final Mile event, entertainment by the Forbes Flyers jump rope team from Torrington, a bouncy house, inflatable slide, music and face painting. Bottled water and fresh fruit will be offered FREE to participants. There will also be a Healthy Food Drive booth, giving area residents the opportunity to bring and donate non-perishable food items to the Friends in Service to Humanity (FISH) of NW CT Food Pantry.

In addition, Litchfield Hills Road Race will have a booth set up to offer special KiDSMARATHONer entry passes for the one-mile kids race event held the following day on June 8, 2014.

Plumb Hill will host the regional KiDSMARATHON Final Mile run for the sixth year, one of five regional KiDSMARATHON events hosting 5,000 students. More than 800 Litchfield Hills elementary school students will run, which encourages children to exercise and eat healthy. Litchfield Bancorp’s Community Celebration will enable family, friends and fans the opportunity to cheer all the runners along as they complete the final lap of the KiDSMARATHON! Olympian and NY Marathon winner Rod Dixon, founder and President of KiDSMARATHON Foundation, will be at Plumb Hill to encourage the achievement and lead the medal awards ceremony.

Plumb Hill Playing Fields, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that maintains the track, soccer fields and softball field at Plumb Hill.
